Diabetes
I am a diabetic. When I was diagnosed, a cure was a mere "five years away". That was 20 years ago. Since this country's
economic well being appears to depend on this illness never being cured - note recently tripled price of treatment and further
development of even more expensive treatments and equipment, etc. for evidence - here are some super hidden links not being advertised in
the US of A.
- Stem Cell Research (Feb. '99) -
Discussion about islet cells - the cells in the pancreas that actually produce the insulin. Stem cell research having been the
greatest hope for a real "cure" since there would be no need for the use of immunosuppresants. This is why I've dispised GWB
since the day he put a cap on it.
- "Encapsulated" Islet Cells (Apr. '05) -
Taking the Edmonton Protocol to the next level. For the uninitiated, the Edmonton (Canada) clinical trial "cured" a number of
diabetics. The need for lifetime immunosuppresants for those "cured" tell me it was only able to bandage the situation and
swap one expensive medication for a much more expensive and dangerous one... however, they produce their own insulin now. This
particular trial has only been attempted on a single patient so far, and there hasn't been a word about it since. I believe
this means: it worked. Scientists in California had developed a method of "encapsulating" the islet cells, thereby avoiding
the need of lifetime immunosuppresants. This trial was performed in Toronto, Canada. If it didn't work, it's rather likely
we'd have heard something by now. I blame the insurance companies for the cover up.
- Mice Cured with Drugs (Feb. '08) -
Because Europeans love their drugs. There's apparently an injectable enzyme that will "grow" new islet cells. I don't
expect there to be a clinical trial outside of the UK, however. I also don't believe this will be successful unless I missed
something where Diabetes got reclassified. In the research I've conducted: Diabetes Type 1 is an auto-immune illness. The immune
system attacks the pancreatic cells killing them off and therefore: Diabetes. If you were to regrow the damaged cells, wouldn't
the immune system just kick in and kill them again? Maybe karma will be on their side though and the enzyme will be cheaper to
buy than insulin and you don't have to take it as often, who knows?
Software
- FlashFXP -
A must have! Takes FTP software to a new level... like one not annoying. Besides being feature packed as FTP software it will
allow you to "FXP" which is a transfer from one FTP to another FTP without involving your hard drive. Not all FTP servers allow
this feature, but when they do it's a real time saver. Best priced FTP software on the market, and no one else has that feature
to my knowledge. Also... free upgrades for LIFE! Making the author just about the coolest coder on the planet.
- ClamWin -
FREE antivirus. No obnoxious active scanners... just shedule to check weekly. I used this when Symantec failed. If you aren't
retarded about your file downloads, this will be "good enough" for you and either way it will kick Norton's ass.
- ShareAZA -
For when you feel like being retarded about your downloads :) This pwns all the P2P clients out there... since it connects to
all the networks at once. Will also do Torrent downloads which eMule leaves out. But seriously, don't be silly. If you're going
to download something "pirated"... best to scan it before opening it. Norton MIGHT catch it before you do, but if it slips... it
won't be able to remove it once it's on. This piece of software is completely safe and completely free and should not be confused
with the spyware/adware company that took over shareaza.com.
- SpyBot Search and Destroy -
Free utility that actually WORKS for getting rid of spyware. Also to please use the "Immunize" function. Update often. Choose
"advanced" mode. Click the tools tab. Check "ActiveX" and "BHOs" and check those lists carefully. If you're running IE, you
likely have a number of things running in your browser that you don't want. Also, unless you REALLY can't live without them, search
your Add/Remove Programs list for search "helpers" and "assistants" and any toolbars. Uninstall all of them. They're worthless
and slow your machine down. If you have anything Yahoo! installed.... good luck to you.
- Spyware Blaster -
Enhanced version of the "immunize" feature above. Update manually and this software stays free.
Sites
- inprogress.us -
Where you can purchase my web design services. Safari isn't cooperating with my form so well just yet... but that may just
be the beta talking. (php, xhtml strict)
- meridianmusic.com -
I actually prepared all but the graphics for the music desk (services and photo galleries sections) which - of course - are graphics by Andy!
The rest I did after MUCH discussion with the artistic staff at Meridian Music, without whom this site would not have been possible.
This is an expensive design, but it should be noted that this is what can be accomplished when the customer appreciates my requisite of feedback.
Most of the videos were prepared by the staff as were most of the photos.

By far the greatest achievement I've made. Even though they're evil, there is a flash intro - by request of the artist. (php, xhtml strict)
- fatenmunger.com -
She'd like to "upgrade" her site, though has not eluded to the timeframe. I hope soon! (php, xhtml strict)

Faten Munger's restaurant! What can I say: multi-talents == multi-sites. New menus coming soon! (php, xhtml strict)

As far as I know... they aren't still making albums. They'd planned to for awhile... but that was like years back and both couples have
children now. As I was raised a good Christian kid, this was absolutely the best music I'd heard in that genre before and since
meeting them. My mother and I were part of a "praise band" in our church for awhile and we failed miserably at trying to emulate
their unique sound. Still fared better than any other band I've heard butcher the same songs. (php, xhtml strict) (Graphics By Andy!)
